Update on OHC Foundation

Welcome to this week's blog. For those of you in the UK, we hope you are enjoying the glorious English summer! This week we just wanted to give you a short update on activities within the OHC Foundation.

1. OHC charity transition launch event at House of Lords: As many of you will be aware, back in March Alex Howard gifted ownership of The Optimum Health Clinic to our registered charity, OHC Foundation. We are very pleased to say that this transition has gone smoothly and most of the details have now been completed. We have an official launch event of the new structure on 5th November in the House of Lords which we hope will be an excellent opportunity to raise further profile of OHC's important work. It should also be fun to be in the Houses of Parliament on Guy Fawkes day!

2. Research plans: We are actively working on plans for our randomised controlled trial (RCT) that will be a critical step in establishing the evidence base for the OHC approach, and hopefully in time receiving government funding. With this and a number of other projects, our research department has been a hub of activity over recent months. We have also just had our latest paper accepted for publication in Medical Hypothesis (more details in time). We will have an update video with our Research Director, Dr Megan Arroll, in early September to tell you more and outline further our plans for the RCT.

3. Fundraising: We are now working towards active fundraising plans for our RCT, and all offers of support are gratefully received. If you would like to make a donation, or organise a fundraising event, please do get in touch with us, it would be a massive support (you can donate easily through our Just Giving page http://www.justgiving.com/optimumhealthfoundation).

If you would like to support an already planned event - please do check out a sponsored walk that Elaine Ewens is kindly doing for us https://www.justgiving.com/Elaine-Ewens It is worth noting that every penny raised goes directly to supporting our Research Plans, with all overheads of OHC Foundation covered by the clinic.

Thank you again to everyone that has supported us over the years, and we look forwards sharing more news soon!
