Dr Alex Howard

Founder and Executive Chairman

Dr Alex Howard is Founder & Executive Chairman of The Optimum Health Clinic, which he set up after his own seven year struggle with ME/CFS as a teenager. Alex is the author of three best-selling books, which have been translated into nine languages, including Why ME? My Journey from ME to Health and Happiness, and Decode Your Fatigue: A Clinically Proven 12-Step Plan to Increase Your Energy, Heal Your Body and Transform Your Life.

Alex received his PhD in Psychology from University of Greater Manchester and is creator of the Therapeutic Coaching® methodology. Since March 2020, Alex has been documenting his therapeutic work with real life patients via his ground-breaking In Therapy with Dr Alex Howard YouTube series.

Alex has also created some of the largest online conferences in the world, including the Fatigue Super Conference, and the annual Trauma Super Conference—Alex’s conferences have been attended by over two million people. Alex has published academic research in publications such as the British Medical Journal Open and Psychology and Health, and has passionately been supporting those affected by fatigue-related conditions for over two decades.
