Our Practitioners

The Optimum Health Clinic (OHC) works with a wide ranging team of practitioners and researchers that are both medically trained and non-medically trained.  This reflects the complex nature of the kinds of situations presented by those working with OHC.  If at any point you have any doubts or concerned, we encourage you contact us for clarification.

Medical practitioners working with The Optimum Health Clinic are licensed by the GMC (General Medical Council) and are qualified to diagnose and treat ME, CFS, Fibromyalgia and that group of illnesses.

Non-medical practitioners (those working in our psychology and nutrition departments) do not diagnose or treat ME, CFS, Fibroymyalgia and that group of illnesses.  Psychology practitioners work to address internal and external stressors (through using the approaches in which they are trained such as hypnotherapy, NLP, life coaching and EFT), and in turn help reduce their internal stress response, which research and current thinking suggest is a key factor affecting the body’s innate ability to heal and maintain homeostasis.

Professor Leslie J Findley, MD, MRCS, DRCOG, DCH, FRCP (Consultant Neurologist with Barking, Havering and Redbridge NHS Trust), speaking on Radio 4 in 2007, suggested that “any treatment which reduces the stress response will improve chronic fatigue syndrome and many other conditions”.

Nutritional Therapists working with The Optimum Health Clinic help patients to optimise their energy and wellbeing, to rebalance their bodily systems, and to generally support optimum health and wellness.
